Rare high risk for severe weather this weekend...

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a very ominous warning today for millions of people in the middle part of the country for tomorrow afternoon and night. A rare 2nd day forecast of a high risk of severe weather including strong, long track tornadoes, some of which may occur after dark. This “high risk” category hasn’t been used on a day 2 forecast since March of 2006.

While the map shows the the majority of severe weather to be in Oklahoma and east central Kansas, note the outer edge spills over in our area.

Bates County Live will continue to monitor the situation as it develops through the next 24 hours- as of right now, there are no watches or warnings in effect. Click here to view live radar
