Missouri State Representative Convicted Of Misdemeanor Animal Abuse

A Missouri State Representative has been convicted of a misdemeanor animal abuse charge in St. Clair County. Osceola republican Warren Love was charged in September, 2012 for knowlingly failing to provide adequate control of his animals after his cattle escaped his pasture. Judge Garrett R. Crouch II found Love guilty after a trial that began at 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the courthouse in Osceola. A hearing on any post-trial motions and sentencing is scheduled at 9:00 a.m. November 18. The maximum penalty is up to one year in the county jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000.00. Love, who was elected last November to represent Cedar, St. Clair, Hickory and Benton Counties, said he was disappointed -- but not surprised -- by the verdict.
