The Bates County Elks Lodge have moved one step closer in the construction of the Veterans Memorial Monument that weighs 4,000lbs and will be on the front lawn of The Bates County Court House. Because of the generous donations of the community the stone has been ordered and delivery is expected sometime in April of 2014 weather permitting.
However, the Bates County Elks are still in need of donations which will be used for the continual upkeep and maintenance of the monument which will stand as a tribute to those that have served our country.
