The manager had fled the Sonic Drive-In parking lot and ran to the Clinton Bullseye Store during the robbery. Police accompanied the manager back to the Sonic Drive-In. He told officers that he exited the Sonic Drive-In building at approximately 11:15 p.m., carrying the receipts from the store. He was approached in the parking lot by two subjects as he was walking to his pickup truck. One subject was approximately six feet one inch tall, 180 pounds, wearing a hockey mask similar to the mask worn in “Friday the 13th” movies, and carrying a baseball bat. The other subject was approximately five feet 10 inches tall, 180 pounds and while the subject was not wearing a mask, the face of the subject was obscured by a hood from his jacket. Both subjects were wearing dark hooded jackets with the hoods over their heads. They were also wearing dark colored pants. These two subjects pursued the manager to his pickup truck. The manager was able to enter the truck. The masked subject struck the door window with the bat but the window did not break. While both suspects were at the driver’s door of the truck, the manager exited the passenger side of the vehicle and ran to the Clinton Bullseye Store, leaving the day’s receipts behind in the seat of the truck. He was pursued a short distance by one of the subjects. An undisclosed amount of money was taken during this incident. Another employee reported seeing a vehicle parked in the area just before the incident that may have been used by the suspects. The vehicle was described as an older, boxy looking white sport utility vehicle with 4 doors and tinted windows.
