Two persons died in a two-vehicle accident on March 6 in Pettis County on Highway 65 at Rt. J.
Eldon F. Coleman, 67, Sedalia, not wearing a seat belt, became disabled in the southbound lanes of US 65 due to a prior crash, causing a 2000 Freightliner southbound by Dale L. Carmichael, 63, Boonville, wearing a seat belt, to strike the Coleman vehicle head on....
Eldon F. Coleman had fatal injuries. His body was transported by EMS to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office. His vehicle was totaled and removed from the scene by Don’s Towing. It was unknown at the time of this accident report whether he had drivers insurance. A passenger in the Coleman vehicle also died. Melissa A. Coleman, 43, Sedalia, not wearing a seat belt, had fatal injuries. Her body was transported by EMS to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Carmichael vehicle was totaled and removed from the scene by Don’s Towing. Dale L. Carmichael had drivers insurance through National Casualty.
Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper J.D. Owens investigated the accident and was assisted by Corporal R.S. Smith, Sergeant J.M. Toal, Sgt. M.P. Fennewald and Cpl. D.E. Fessenden. Pettis County Coroner Robert Smith on the scene pronounced both of the fatalities dead at 10:20 p.m.
