Just yesterday, not one, but two crashes resulted in fatalities near Drexel, MO. Around noon a LaCygne KS man died when his motorcycle struck an SUV at the 69 highway ramp at 359th street. A few hours later, and about 4 miles away, six year old Gage Kraft died as the result of automobile accident on a county road.
Grandmother and driver of the vehicle, Stacy Adams, 45, of Louisburg was flown by helicopter to a KC hospital for treatment; another passenger, Gage's 8 year old brother, remains hospitalized with small tear in his spleen.
A tragic day for many local families as they deal with loss and hurting loved ones. Especially the family of Gage Kraft- a young couple with local ties, including family in the Butler area, who now have to deal with unexpected costs associated with planning Gage's funeral.
To help offset these costs, a memorial fund in the name of Gage Kraft has been set up at Hawthorn Bank which has locations in Drexel, Harrisonville and Belton. More information about locations and hours can be found here www.hawthornbank.com.
Updates on the condition of Gage's brother and grandmother will be posted as information becomes available.
