Around 5pm this afternoon the Drexel, Adrian, Amsterdam and Butler Fire Departments along with Bates County EMS and Bates County Sheriff's Office all responded to a house fire. The location of this house fire was North of Merwin to the first gravel road East which is County Road 14002, Then the first house on the North side of the roadway. The first initial report was the home was a vacant home but that has not been confirmed. The structure was a total loss and it's unknown at this time the cause of the fire. Bates County Live will update this when the official press release becomes available to us.
