Jerry Spencer |
Jerry Spencer was born on February 2, 1950 in Stockton, MO. He was the son of Elmer C. Spencer and Wilma L. Samsel. He was raised in Stockton, MO and graduated from Stockton High School in 1969.
Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War from 1969-1973.
He fell in love and married Patricia K. O’Connor of Stockton, MO on April 26, 1980. This past year they celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. On September 18, 1981, Pat gave birth to their first daughter Vickie Marie Spencer. They were blessed again two years later on September 28, 1983 with the birth of their second daughter Marcia Lynn Spencer. He was a loving father and husband to his family. He retired from 3M after 25 years. Jerry became a Christian in March of 1961 at a revival at the Missionary Baptist Church of Stockton, MO.
He was baptized in Pole Cat Creek south of Stockton two weeks later. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Spencer, his father Elmer Spencer, his mother Wilma Samsel, and his brother Ronald Spencer.
He is survived by his daughter Vickie Spencer of Butler, MO; his daughter Marcia Spencer of Springfield, MO; his sister Linda Jost of Bolivar, MO; his niece Kimberly Watson of Bolivar, MO; his niece Christy Whitlock, of Pleasant Hope, MO; as well as three great nephews and three great-great nephews and a host of friends. He was a blessing to all of those who knew him.
May he now be at peace as he awaits his family to join him one day soon in the kingdom of Heaven. God bless.
