Charles Phillips, age 77, Mound City, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at his home. He was born in Linn County, Kansas on January 6, 1939 the son of Edward and Anna Lee Walrod Phillips. He graduated from Prescott High School. He attended Pittsburg State University, Texas AandI and eventually earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business and Economics from Friends University. He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving his country in the United States Navy as an electronics technician wiring F9 and F11 fighter planes. He later worked for Cessna and King Radio. Charles married Kathleen Brownback in 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Carl Phillips. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, a son, Craig Phillips, and two sisters, Joan Foster and husband Larry, and Sharon Urban and husband Rick.
Funeral service will be held 6 pm Monday, October 3, 2016 at the Schneider Mound City Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 pm at the chapel. Private family burial will be in the Prescott Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Prescott Country View, Prescott Cemetery or Avalon Hospice.
