Carl Edward Hicks Carl Edward Hicks, 71, Kansas City, MO (formerly of Schell City) passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City. Carl was born December 1, 1945 in Schell City, MO to Charles Arthur and Helen (Fischer) Hicks. On January 27, 1998 he was united in marriage to Stella Hale of Sedalia, MO, and she survives of the home.

Carl was raised in Schell City and graduated from Schell City High School Class of 1965. Following high school he became a truck driver at the age of 18. Carl worked for KC Transfer (Carroll Ball Transport) from 1986 until 2016. He was baptized July 21, 1985 at the First Baptist Church in El Dorado Springs. Carl has attended Bannister Road Baptist Church since 2006. He enjoyed fishing, camping outdoors, gardening, and spending time with family.

In addition to his wife Stella, survivors include two sons; Donald Peters (Stephanie), El Dorado Springs, Shane Edward Hicks of the home; one daughter, Brittany Hicks of the home; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marion Brown; two brothers, Charles Hicks, and James Hicks.

Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home in Schell City with Pastor Dwight Scott officiating. The family will receive friends from 4-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday prior to the service.
