Obituary - Frances "Frannie" Stoddard

The Funeral Service for Frances will be held at Hill and Son Funeral Home, Appleton City, Missouri on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. The Minister will be Reverend Mark Avery.

The Visitation will be at Hill and Son Funeral Home on Monday, September 23, 2013,1:00 - 2:00 p.m. preceding service with Internment will be in Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri. The family suggests Memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Hospice.

Frances Irene Stoddard, 78, passed away September 20, 2013 at Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City, Missouri. She was born September 15, 1935 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Harry and Irene (Trombly) Osterhout.

Frances and Nelson M. Stoddard were united in marriage October 16, 1954 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. In 1967 they moved to Appleton City, Missouri. Frances was a member of the Church of God (Holiness) attending when her health allowed. She and Nelson were blessed with four children and along with raising their children Frances worked many years as a cook at Ellett Memorial Hospital. She collected angels, enjoyed singing, reading, praying for her family and spoiling her grandchildren.

Preceding Frances in death were her parents; two sisters: Natalie Pajula and Gertrude Wise; and five brothers: Gordon, Merlin, Robert, Wendell and Raymond Osterhout.

Survivors include her husband Nelson of the home; sister, Patricia Cryderman, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan; daughter Beverly Johnson and friend, Rusty Thompson of Appleton City, Missouri; three sons: Philip Stoddard and wife, Maggie of Montrose, Missouri, Mark Stoddard and wife, Lisa of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Melvin Stoddard and Jane Pierce of Pleasant Hill, Missouri; grandchildren: Cynthia Wade and husband, Bryan of Appleton City, Aaron Johnson and wife, Annie of Appleton City, Jessica Stoddard and Chuck Simpson of Buffalo, Missouri, Stacey Johnson and husband, Clint of Appleton City, Ashlee Stoddard of Des Moines, Iowa, Brett Stoddard of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Todd Stoddard and fiancĂ©, Sierra Greathouse of Appleton City, Kameron Stoddard of Appleton City, Alex Pierce and Garrett Pierce of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Weston Simpson of Ozark, Missouri; great-grandchildren: Nathan Wade, Caitlin Wade, Bailea Johnson, Mason Johnson, Jordon Jackson and Harper Stoddard.
