RICH HILL, USA Documentary, Rich Hill City Council & Mayor: Put an end to "Rich Hill, USA" documentary

All citizens of Rich Hill, past and present, would like to bring to you, this petition to end a very big issue at hand.  I want to start off by pointing out the definition of what a documentary is: being or consisting of documents, relating to, or employing documentation in literature or art; factual, objective.  So far the documentary that Tracy Droz Tragos and Andrew Droz Palermo have produced about Rich Hill is far from factual.  In her article that can be read at the link provided http://julene.womenforaction.org was posted on Friday, September, 20, 2013, she stated crude and false statements about Rich Hill.  She goes on to state that "It (Rich Hill) is being strangled with desolation and is smothering the dreams of these children. This is so far from the truth it is just absolutely volatile to say these things. Many people have moved on to greater things whether it was to go off to college like any other graduating student, or move on to live somewhere to make a good living, or to simply go after their dreams. Also, many have stayed in Rich Hill to make a living and build families, and keep traditions alive because that's what Rich Hill is all about! This documentary will completely outcast the good hardworking families that still thrive in Rich Hill and focus on the families that were raised in poverty.  If I thought this film had good intentions, or had any intentions to help Rich Hill grow economically and let it be known to the world that it is a great place to raise kids, grow up, and not just a run down town with an "eerie existence", I'd be all for it. That's not the light this film is casting on Rich Hill and it needs to end now. This is just one of the MANY articles where she states outrageous and downright hateful statements about our beloved town. We may be a small town without many luxuries but we are mighty and we WILL stand for what we believe and this is what we believe in...Rich Hill. Our Rich Hill.  NOT her Rich Hill, and definitely not her misleading portrayal of Rich Hill. Please help us stop her from finishing this so-called documentary and please stop the kickstarter campaign that is helping her raise money to finish this film. Let's stick together and unite like REAL Rich Hillians know how!
