Funeral services for Elsie Tippie will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Pastor John Prichard officiating. There is no visitation. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions to American Heart Association or Butler Public Library.

Elsie Tippie, age 82 of Butler, Missouri died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born May 10, 1929 to Roy and Ruth Rathburn James in Steele City, Nebraska.


Elsie is survived by two sons, Lyle Tippie and wife Debbie and Dennis Tippie and wife Diana all of Butler, Missouri; a daughter, Connie Searcy and husband Namon of Kansas City, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Matt Tippie, Joe Tippie, Bryan Tippie and wife Amy, Lisa Wachter and husband Shawn, Jenny Taylor and husband Shawn, Kerri Rees and Julie Crisman; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Keith Tippie in 2008; one son, Danny Tippie; two sisters, Lola and Janie; and a granddaughter, Kathy Burgess.
