Coach Wackerman’s Comments
“This was a good night for our wrestlers. We had 7 individual conference champions, in addition to winning the conference quad for the second year in a row. It is nice to have a few duals against schools not in our district also, as the past 2 weekends have had a heavier district focus. There were a number of opens at the quad, which means we all need to continue to actively recruit more wrestlers to our sport. The opens served us well on the scoreboard, however, as we took a very full roster compared to the other schools. With only 2 weeks until the district tournament, our wrestlers have to be in peak mode, cleaning up any remaining rough spots and polishing their moves. Every competition remaining is a district and state tune-up.”
