Obituary - John “Butch” Jacobs


 Funeral services for Butch Jacobs will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Christian Church in Foster, Missouri with Kevin Moyers officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 7-8 PM at Mullinax Funeral Home in Butler, Missouri (660) 679-0009. Burial in Salem Cemetery, Foster, Missouri. John “Butch” Jacobs, Jr., 69 of Foster, Missouri went home to be with the Lord January 18, 2013 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler, Missouri.
Butch was born August 18, 1943 in Foster, the only son of John Sr. and Maxine Eleanor (Miller) Jacobs. He was the baby of the family, and at the age of 69, still considered himself to be.  Butch was raised on a farm northwest of Foster and attended school in Hume, Missouri.
He was united in marriage to Donna West on May 21, 1966 in Butler. Butch had worked as a truck driver, however spent the majority of his career as a Union Painter in District 3, Local #9, where he retired from.
He loved to trout fish at Bennett Spring, and he could smoke a mean rack of ribs. Butch loved his garden, yard, and his John Deere lawnmower!
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Joanne.  He is survived by his wife Donna of Foster; daughter Cheryl Guenther and husband Eric of Humboldt, Kansas; son John Jacobs of Rich Hill; grandchildren Amber Jacobs of Lawrence, Kansas; Brooke Guenther of Humboldt; and Zach Guenther and wife Shawna of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; great-grandchildren Kinz, Breckin, Lane, and Hayden.
