Funeral services for Willis Zinn Jr. will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Hume Methodist Church in Hume, Missouri with Kay Zimmer officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri. Burial in Ft. Scott National Cemetery, Ft. Scott, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Rich Hill American Legion, Hume Methodist Church or National Rifle Association.
Willis Albert Zinn Jr., age 83 of Hume, Missouri, died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Homestead Hospital in Homestead, Florida. He was born January 28, 1929 to Willis Albert Sr. and Mary Lorena Moore Zinn in Amsterdam, Missouri.
Willis is survived by his wife, Laura Jean Zinn of Hume, Missouri; three daughters, Cathy Thurow and husband Larry of Monticello, Illinois, Pamela “Pam” Yarick and husband Meredith of Hume, Missouri and Karen McGuire and husband Tom of Bloomington, Illinois; six grandchildren, Heather Kibbler and husband Sam, Ian Thurow, Kimberly Yarick, Matthew Yarick, Brooke McClure and Bill McClure; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Zinn; and two sisters, Ruby Werner and Verla Drysdale.
