Nevada Man Arrested on Felony Drug Charges

A Nevada man was arrested on felony drug charges Monday night in the Fast Trip parking lot on West Austin Boulevard, said Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher.

Jamie Boykin, 38, of Nevada, was charged with manufacturing or distributing a controlled substance. Boykin is being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

Mosher said Boykin had been under surveillance by the sheriff's office and the C-Net Drug Task Force over the last 90 days, during a drug investigation being conducted in the city.

Once they received a warrant for Boykin's arrest deputies made the arrest.

Mosher said much of the information that led to Boykin's arrest came from the public. "People are calling and e-mailing information to us and it's helping get the drugs out of our county," the sheriff said, explaining that tips can be emailed to his office at tips@VernonCoSheriff.org.
