Vernon County Sheriff's Press Release: Bowman arrested for child porn.‏

Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher said Monday that Curt L Bowman 42, of Nevada is expected to be transferred into federal custody this week. Sheriff Mosher said Bowman was arrested at his home just outside of Nevada Friday morning after his Office and members of the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force served a federal search warrant at Bowman’s house. The Sheriff said his detectives had been working a case in conjunction with the Cobb County Police Department in Atlanta, Georgia involving a juvenile that was being “sexually exploited.” Cobb County’s investigation led them to Vernon County and at that point they contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Mosher said he could not comment on any details of the case but said there was enough evidence found during the search warrant to place Bowman under arrest. A warrant was applied for at the County Prosecutors Office and the 28^th Judicial Circuit Court issued a warrant for Sexual Exploitation of A Minor, a B felony, and Possession of Child Pornography -2^nd/Subsequent Offense Or Possession of 20 pics/one film/Videos Tape, also a class B felony.

The Sheriff said even though state charges were filed, he expects federal charges to be filed on Bowman who is cfurrently being held in the Vernon County Jail on a $100,000 cash only bond.
