La Cygne man killed in motorcycle accident

A 25-year-old La Cygne man was killed Wednesday when the motorcycle he was driving hit another vehicle in southeast Miami County. Max Wood of rural La Cygne reportedly died at the scene. The driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer also involved in the wreck was not injured.

 According to a Miami County Sheriff’s Office news release, emergency units were dispatched at 11:59 a.m. Wednesday to 359th Street and U.S. Highway 69 in regard to an injury accident. On-scene investigation revealed that the Blazer was eastbound, and the 2001 Honda motorcycle was westbound on 359th Street. The driver of the Blazer was reportedly making a left turn onto the northbound on-ramp to U.S. 69 when the motorcycle collided into the sport utility vehicle, according to the release. The accident is still under investigation.
