Around 2:15am this morning the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with the Butler Police Department responded to a one vehicle motorcycle accident on Business I-49 and I-49 on the Southside of Butler.The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2015 Harley Davidson Motorcycle driven by 40 year old Jerry L. Mclay of Rich Hill, Missouri ( Formerly of Butler) failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and struck a post before overturning and ejecting the rider.
Mr. Mclay sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was life flighted to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.
The bike was totaled and towed from the scene by Douty's Tow of Butler, Missouri.
