Coach Wackermans Comments-
120 lb class- Trey Heckadon vs. Ryan Strope
(Fatima). Nice tournament for Trey a 2nd place
finish losing only to Strope a 2010 state medalist.
Carrollton gives us a lot of opponents and competition that we would never see until the state tournament in February. Unlike our primary tournaments, we dont see a lot of district opponents at Carrollton. What we do see is a strong, very physical style of wrestling. Lathrop won this tournament by a wide margin. They should place in the top 10 at the state tournament again, and we host them at our own tournament in January. It makes for a long night, with wrestlers having to wrestle 4-5 matches in about a 6 hour span. Regardless, I feel good about the competition level of the tournament, our individual performances, and our ability to adapt to a new situation- a long road trip, our team roster shortened by injuries and illness, and a tournament full of unfamiliar opponents. Hopefully, we will be healthier and fuller as a team prior to Trenton next Saturday. As a team overall, I think our pace has improved in matches. There were certainly other schools that were not in the physical shape that we are. That is something positive to see at this time of year.”

132 lb. class- Daniel Shubert vs. Tyler Mann (Lathrop) looks
right on track. Had a solid tournament finishing 2nd. His only
loss coming in his last match with Mann, a 2010 state medalist.
