New generator 'ready to go'...

Emergency Management officials of Bates County gathered at Bates County Industries Tuesday Afternoon for the official testing of the Emergency Management Generator transfer switch which will kick on the 30 thousand dollar generator, capable of production 80 KW of electricity.

Generator transfer switch installation funds were received through government grants and will be available for use in 4 counties in our area. The generator is portable and will be stored, in the Bates County Industries building . The generator is capable of generating 80 Kilowatts of electricity, enough power to keep Bates County Industries, supplied with electricity during an emergency situation in the Bates County Area. Bates County Industries facility is now the official Emergency Management Recovery Shelter, designated for Bates County.

The 80 kw Generator is portable, with transfer switches installed for switching from commercial use to generator use in the counties of : Bates County, Henry County, Johnson County and Benton County . Generator transfer switches have been installed at the following locations in the designated County; The Warsaw School , The Benton Center in Clinton , the Methodist Church in Warrensburg and Bates County Industries in Butler.

Government funds were available for the Northern Region and the Southern Region “A”. The Generator is owned by Regional “A” , but available for use when and where it is needed. The Emergency Management Agency made the decision to use the funds for the purchase of a Generator transfer switch and will be a blessing for all of the Counties, should an emergency situation arise.
