Butler City Council News

Once in a blue moon, the Butler City Council has a short meeting, and this week was one of those times. It was over before eight o'clock.

But that doesn't mean they aren't working behind the scenes, because the budget is sill to be finished, and that's one of the largest jobs of the year.

We have this much to report: David Brown has filed for Ward One Council position, and incumbent Tom Burg has filed for his place to continue in Ward Two.

No one has filed in wards three and four...Jim Fisher doesn't plan to retain his place in Ward Three, and no one has filed for Ward Four yet.

Voting time will be the first Tuesday in April, so hopefuls have plenty of time to put their hats in the ring.
And in closing...we spoke about "once in a blue moon" in the opening here...that saying comes from the fact that a "blue moon" is a full moon that occurs twice in a single calendar month, and that only happens about every 2-and-a-half years.

That's our report for the Butler City Council in its first meeting of 2012. We remind that you're welcome to attend any and all council meetings...seven p.m. at City Hall the first and third Tuesday of each month.
