The Butler City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 7:00 p.m.at City Hall in the 2nd floor meeting room located at 22 W. Ohio Street, Butler Missouri 64730. The public hearing will be to consider comments and views from interested parties concerning a proposed increase in the sewer user fees to fund improvements at the Wastewater Treatment Plant that include the installation of a UV disinfection system and improvements to the Wastewater Collection System to eliminate the Inflow and Infiltration of ground water into the system and to provide funds for the operational expenses of these wastewater systems.
The Wastewater Treatment Plant is required to make these improvements to meet the Missouri Department of Natural Resources effluent discharge permit requirements. The City is also required to eliminate Inflow and Infiltration of ground water or storm water into the sanitary sewer collection system as noted in a plan that has been approved by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources.
