Weather Update

Enjoy the gorgeous weather over the next three days, because the forecast for early May takes yet another turn back toward winter. An arctic cold front is expected to sweep across the area late Wednesday, with an unseasonably cold airmass likely to setup over the region into next weekend. The graphic shows one computer model's forecast for the end of the week. Note the areas of precipitation combined with temperatures in the low to mid 30s! May 4th will mark the 10 year anniversary of one of the most devastating tornado outbreaks in Kansas City and the Missouri Ozarks' history. This May 4th will likely have a better chance at seeing wintry precipitation! And before you ask, the answer is yes. Measurable snow has been recorded in May ONE time in Kansas City history going back to 1888 -- 1.7" on May 3rd 1906.
