Ann Roach, 89, of Adrian, MO died Friday, April 26, 2013 at the Adrian Manor. She was born Martha Ann Bixby in St. Joseph, MO on November 1, 1923 to Aaron Edward and Audrey Marie Bixby. Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian with visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Inurnment in East Slopes Cemetery, Riverside, MO. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Adrian Manor in care of the funeral home.
Ann moved to Kansas City, MO in 1932 with her mother and brother, Truman. In the early 1940’s she moved back to St. Joseph and there she met Myron Roach of Mound City, MO. They were married in Maryville, MO in 1943. To this union 7 children were born.
Ann worked at Howard Johnson Motor Lodge on Parkview Road in North Kansas City for 13 years, nine of which she was head housekeeper. In 1986 she moved to Archie, MO. She then went to work at Camden Healthcare in Harrisonville, MO. She worked there until July 1993. She then moved to Adrian in June of 1994.
She was preceded in death by one son, Truman Roach, a grandson, Scotty Clevenger, her parents, two brothers and an infant sister. She is survived by four sons, Jim Roach and his wife, Ella of Kansas City, MO, Jack Roach of Belle, MO, David Roach and his wife, Michelle of Kirkville, IA and Allen Roach and his wife, Laura of Sedalia, MO; two daughters, Margaret Clevenger of Braymer, MO and Kathie Willerton and her husband, Jack of Archie, MO; 27 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
