Hume News

The community of Hume wishes to extend their sympathy to the family of Lavona Gilkey Bradley. She was such an awesome caring caregiver and friend at the Prescott Nursing Home. She will be greatly missed by those she took care of, co-workers, friends and family. Our thoughts and prayers are with her friends and family.

The community of Hume would also like to extend their sympathy to Cleo Whitten who was 102 years old. Cleo who was a life long member of the Hume Community until the last 6 ½ years of her life that she lived at the Prescott Nursing Home. Cleo was a strong, independent woman who loved her family and the Hume Community, who saw many changes over the years. She was quite a lady with strong values. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and her caregivers.

The 050’s Club will meet on Monday, November 7 at noon at the Hume Community Center for a carry in dinner. All are invited even if you are not over 50. You may bring a dish or donate at the door. Lots of fun and visiting are always enjoyed, some stay and enjoy an afternoon of cards and games.

Hume United Methodist Church News: A Family Fun Night was held on October 16 with a wienie roast that was moved inside due to the wind. We enjoyed hot dogs, chips and s’mores. We had a pretty good assembly line going on with the s’mores. The kids enjoyed playing and everyone enjoyed a hayride to round up the evening.

The Annual Lord’s Acre Day BBQ and Auction will held on Saturday, November 5 with the meal to start at 11:00 a.m. and the auction to start at 1:00 p.m. The sandwiches are always delicious along with the many pies and desserts to chose from. There will be lots of homemade items on the auction along with scrumptious goodies to bid on. Lots of fun and fellowship is always enjoyed.
