From the Bates County Sheriffs Office

On December 15th the Deputies from the Bates County Sheriff's Office kicked of the Shop with a Cop Program. This is the first year that the deputies started the program. Majority of the funds were raised in November with the deputies receiving pledges for the No Shave November contest. At total of $3000 was raised for various charitable activities .

The Deputies we able to support the Adrian Police Chief's bicycle drive, donated $300 to buy books for the Optimist Club for kids Christmas and selected 12 children from throughout Bates County to shop for Christmas presents. The Deputies seemed to have as much fun shopping with the kids as the kids had shopping for themselves.

The Deputies want to say Thank you to all those that supported the program so that the Deputies could make a difference is so many young lives this time of year.

Preparations are already underway to make the 2017 program even bigger. A big Thank You to Chris White and all of Walmart's employees for your help

Thanks Bates County and we wish you a very Merry Christmas!
