Byron Birge passed at 01:00 am Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Mo.
Funeral will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Vansant-Mills Chapel at 11:00 am, visitation is one hour prior with graveside services at 2:00 pm at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City, Mo.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Missouri Veterans Home Alzheimer's Unit, Warrensburg, MO.,and may be left in care of the funeral home. Fond memories and condolences can be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.
Byron Brian Birge was born February 17, 1926 in Gillham , Arkansas to David Albert Birge and Mary Ellen Stamps. Byron served in W.W. II in the Army Corps of Engineers , he worked for T.W. A. for 32 years as an engineer and retired January 1, 1982. He lived in Kansas city for 40 years, moved to Butler in 1986, and then moved to Clinton in 1995. Byron was a member of the Clinton VFW Post 1984. Byron enjoyed fishing and he and his wife Dixie enjoyed traveling.
Byron is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Shirley, his daughter Linda, grandson Shane, granddaughter Jennifer and his 3 brothers.
Among survivors are his wife Dixie Birge of the home, Daughters; Sharon Loy, of Topeka, Ks, Cynthia Diehl of Shawnee, Ks, Ruth Lesmeister of Montrose, Mo, and Mary Green of Parkville, Mo, Step-children; Kent Lower of Clinton, Mo, Kathy Deich of Holden, Mo, Robert Lower of Sedalia, Mo, and Jim Lower of North Kansas City, Mo.; 9 Grandchildren, 20 Great-Grandchildren, 10 Step-Grandchildren, and 13 Step-Great-Grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home.
