Strong Christmas Day Storm System

Astronomical winter is here! The days will start getting longer from this point forward. In terms of weather, dry conditions to continue the next few days with light precipitation possible on Friday as a weak storm system moves overhead.

The bigger story however will be a strong storm system that will impact the Central U.S. on Christmas Day. Models in very good agreement that this system will being light to moderate rains to the area Christmas afternoon and evening, with an isolated non-severe storm or two also possible.

For those who may be heading north, be mindful of the heavy snow potential from western Nebraska north through the Dakotas.
