The body of an Overland Park Kansas man missing for nearly a week was located this afternoon near Amsterdam. The Missouri Highway Patrol and the Bates County Sheriff's Department were alerted of a red Toyota Highlander in a field just east of Amsterdam on J highway, and upon arrival found the body of 66-year-old David Dotson inside.
A Silver Alert was issued for Dotson on August 9 when he went missing from his home. His family was concerned because he was an insulin-dependent diabetic.
Dotson regularly came to the area to fish and visit with friends. Obituary information will be posted as it becomes available.
