One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Dec. 21 in Bates County on I-49 at the Bates County Drainage Ditch.
Nicholas A. Carnes, 19, Carthage, wearing a seat belt, northbound in a 2002 Mitsubishi, lost control of his vehicle on the ice covered roadway. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Nicholas A. Carnes experienced minor injuries and was transported by EMS to Bates County Hospital. His vehicle was totaled and secured at the scene. He had drivers insurance through State Farm.
Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper D.A. Jones investigated the accident and was assisted by Sergeant C.M. Gach and Trooper B.J. Hamerle.
