Butler Lady Bears Track Results
Last Thursday Butler hosted its first track meet in 12 years!! This was a very special and exciting day for the track program! Even though the weather was cold and rainy, it was great to see our wonderful facility hosting a varsity track meet!! A HUGE THANK YOU to all of the workers who volunteered their time, the administrators who helped in all facets, and the community members who helped us out and who helped make this meet run.
Your Lady Bears had a great meet and worked very hard to bring home the 1st place plaque with a team total of 135 points!!
Here are the top 8 place finishers who helped earn their team that 1st place finish:
Shot Put: Courtney Blevins- 5th place
Discus: Courtney Blevins- 7th place
Long Jump: Peyton McGuire- 4th place, Mady Gepford- 5th place
Triple Jump: Amy Miller- 1st place with a jump of 31’4″, Peyton McGuire- 3rd place
High Jump: Amy Miller- 2nd place, Aarika Gardner- 4th place
Pole Vault: Aarika Gardner- 2nd place
4x800m Relay: Katie Henry, Jenna Simms, Peyton McGuire, Jolynn Ross- 3rd place
100m Dash: Jenna Simms- 4th place, Courtney Blevins- 5th place
100M Hurdles: Kiersten Morris- 1st place with a time of 17.43
4x200m Relay: Makenna Hannah, Mady Gepford, Amy Miller, Kiersten Morris- 1st place with a time of 1:53.9
1600m Run: Katie Henry- 5th place
4x100m Run: Courtney Blevins, Makenna Hannah, Amy Miller, Kiersten Morris- 2nd place
400m Dash: Mady Gepford- 2nd place, Aarika Gardner- 6th place
300m Hurdles: Kiersten Morris- 1st place with a time of 51.23
800m Run: Mady Gepford- 2nd place
200m Dash: Makenna Hannah- 4th place
4x400m Relay: Jenna Simms, Makenna Hannah, Aarika Gardner, Peyton McGuire- 3rd place
Again, thank you to everyone for their help! This was a wonderful event for our school, community businesses, and our student athletes. The Bears will be traveling up to Archie on Tuesday April 22.
