(BUTLER, MO – September 22, 2011) - Twenty-two Bates County 4-H’ers participated in the Missouri 4-H State Shooting Sports contest held on Saturday, September 17 at Columbia. Bates County 4-H Youth Specialist Alan J. Mundey reports the following results: Luke Crawford placed 4th in the Hunting Skills competition and also captured 3rd place in the intermediate division of the Compound 3D Archery Shoot; Jared Jacobs took 2nd place in the senior Archery Compound Release event; the senior Compound Release Archery team of Jared Jacobs, Erin Armentrout, Douglas Fisher, and Geoffrey Algiere placed 2nd in their event; and the senior FITA Compound Archery team made up of Jared Jacobs, Wyatt Cumpton, Erin Armentrout, and Derek Sutcliffe brought home 2nd place in their competition. Other Bates County participants were Wade Cumpton, Lincoln Sutton, Jaclyn Crawford, Ty Underwood, Allison Jacobs, Victoria Sears, Conrad Walley, Ella Armentrout, Megan Sutcliffe, David Warfield, Jr., Wylie Miller, Matthew Coleman, Andrew Newkirk, Wesley Shine and Emily Shine.
