Picnic Challenge Debuts Oct. 8

It’s Picnic Challenge time! “Think Outside the Basket” and compete for prizes for Most Creative Picnic, Best Picnic Design and Great Functionality. It’s all happening October 8th at Poplar Heights Living History Farm. Beautiful foliage, crisp air, perfect picnic weather. This fun filled event benefits the Farm’s Summer Day Camp for kids program next summer, 2012.

Businesses, clubs, families, friends – get together a group and see who can put on the best picnic ever seen! Gather up your picnic basket, grill, checkered table cloth and spend the day at the Farm. Five Flamenco guitar players will be strolling the grounds. Bring your own wine. Hop on the wagon for a hay ride. Finish off your picnic dinner with roasted marshmallows at the bon fire. It’s all for a great cause and you might be the big winner – prizes in several categories.

Advance registration is required for this event. Each picnic entry has a tax deductible registration fee of $25.00. Set up begins at 10:00am Saturday morning, October 8, judging at noon. Then enjoy your picnic! To register and for a list of entry guidelines call 660-424-3773 or email brian.phillips@poplarheightsfarm.org.
