SheriffJ.KentOberkromispleasedtoannouncearecordsettingyearinregardstoincomefortheoperationsoftheHenryCountyDetentionCenter. ThenewDetentionCenteropenedinOctober,2010with118bedsandanexpandedstaffforoperations. SheriffOberkromsaid,“IthasalwaysbeenourgoaltoissuecontractsfortheholdingofinmatesfromotherfacilitiesincludingFederalauthoritiesifneededhereinHenryCounty”.
CaptainJasonShackles,JailAdministrator,hasbeeninstrumentalinestablishinga“firstclass” facilityinregardstopolicyandoperations. CaptainShackleshasbuiltstrongworkingrelationshipswithotherjailadministratorthroughoutthestateandtheMissouriSheriffs’ Associationoverthepastyearandahalftobringustothispointinouroperations.
TheprojectedincomefortheHenryCountyDetentionCenterforfiscalyear2013isover$575,000.00. Normally,thecountyreceivesapproximately$250,000.00annuallyfromlocalandstatereimbursements.
WehopetocontinuetoholdinmatesfromotherjurisdictionstosupplementtheincomefortheoperationsoftheDetentionCenterandIknowthatCaptainShacklesandhisstaffofprofessionalswillcontinuetobeasignificantpartofmakingthathappen”,SheriffOberkromsaid.
