Early morning church fire in Butler

On Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 04:20 a.m. the Butler Fire Department was dispatched to the Ohio Street United Methodist Church for a fire alarm. 

First units arrived on scene and found smoke coming from the building. 

Upon entry to the building a small fire was found in the sanctuary and extinguished. At 5:37 the fire was under control. There was smoke damage throughout the rest of the building. 

Units were released from the scene at 6:53 a.m. Butler Fire received mutual aid assistance from Central Cass County Fire Protection District and Rich Hill Fire Department. There were no injuries.
