Peggy graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1957 and lived at home until her marriage to Dan Oberly February 20, 1959 at Filley West Church. She loved being a farm wife and working outdoors; vegetable and flower gardening were two of her favorite pastimes. Peggy was a gifted artist and she loved music. She played several different instruments but enjoyed piano, guitar and saxophone the most.

Peggy was a member of the Assembly of God Church in El Dorado Springs, Missouri and her church service was very important to her. She helped with special dinners and yearly cleaning chores. In 2003 Peggy traveled with a group to Uruguay where they helped build a church. She was a member of the Osage Community Ladies Club in Taberville and also enjoyed coupon trading with a group in El Dorado Springs.

In later years Peggy and Dan sold a piece of land to a group of hunters for a duck hunters club. She had continued to watch after the area and clean their camping trailer before each hunting season began as long as she was able.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Rhonda Gay Oberly; her sister, Hazel Richardson; and nephew, Terry Joe Richardson. Survivors include her husband Dan Oberly; two sisters-in-law, Clara Belle Oberly and Elizabeth Joann “Jody” Davis and her husband Noble Eugene; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
