Adrian City Council meeting tonight

An open letter written to the News-Xpress newspaper last week (penned by the Adrian Police Department) has further fueled concerns that the City of Adrian may be considering eliminating the police department. Bates County Live has spoken with the Bates County Sheriff's department regarding this matter was told that there are no plans at this time for the Sheriff's Department to take over patrol of the city; however coverage of the city by the Sheriff's Department could conceivably be done at a cost savings to the city while providing ample coverage.

Although discussion of the police department is not slated on the agenda, anyone concerned regarding this matter may want to attend the Adrian city council meeting tonight at 7 pm at city hall.
