Graveside services for Argus Dennis will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 23, 2010 at Thomas Cemetery in Norwood, Missouri with Gary Schowengerdt officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m. at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri.
Argus Wilbur “A.W.” Dennis, age 87 of Adrian, Missouri died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in Adrian. He was born October 4, 1922 to Arthur Wilbur and Ruth Lowry Dennis in Huron, South Dakota.
Argus is survived by a son, Berry Leighton Dennis and wife Sue of Adrian, Missouri; a grandson, David Dennis and wife Katie of Topeka, Kansas; two brothers, Earl Dennis of Anderson, California and Chalmer Dennis and wife Sally of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and four sisters, Iva Byrd of Sacramento, California, Versal Hammers of Eureka, California, Evelyn Mitchell and husband Red of Reedly, California and Bernice Steel of Redding, California. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Armandy Dennis in 2004; one son, Wilbur Dennis in 1964; a brother, Alvin Dennis; and one sister, Velma Pennington.
