In the past few weeks there has been a rash of mailbox vandalism in the Amsterdam area ranging from mailboxes dented, struck or uprooted. According to the US Postal inspector, if you find evidence (rocks, bottles, sticks, etc.) that you believe was used in the incident, preserve the item as best as possible and notify either of these two agencies:
Amsterdam Post Office 660-267-3228
Bates County Sheriff 660-679-3232
The Postal Inspector has been notified and is investigating the incidents. If you have a mailbox vandalized and/or can provide information about who is responsible for the vandalism please call the above numbers as well.
