Civil War cannon firing in Adrian (with video)

Bill Thurman of Archie brought team of volunteers to help shoot his Civil War replica cannon at Frontier Village in Adrian this afternoon. Five people are needed to replicate the actions of firing the cannon under actual Civil War conditions. Each member learned all five positions and after over an hour's worth of training a live shot echoed throughout the Adrian area (video below).


The cannon weighs close to 3,000 lbs and costs approximately $15 in black powder per shot.
