Ruby Coraetta Johnson, 88, Montrose, MO, died Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Atkinson Chapel in Adrian, MO. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, September 5 at the chapel. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Butler, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice.
Ruby was born August 26, 1923 in Bates County, MO, the daughter of Charles and Eva (O’dea) Carroll. She worked as an operator for AT&T for 26 years before retiring. She was a member of Walnut Grove Presbyterian Church in Ballard, MO and was baptized at an early age. She loved to bowl, quilting, playing cards, mowing her own yard and reading.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd Johnson and one brother. She is survived by two brothers, Charles Carroll and his wife, Louise, Butler, MO and Thomas Carroll and his wife, Dora, Appleton City, MO; and four sisters, Lina Lou Allen, Marjorie Craig, Jessie Paxton and Wanda Wainscott and her husband, Ross, all of Butler, MO.
