Obituary - Larry Stubbs

Funeral services for Larry “Chicken Larry” Stubbs will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Mullinax Funeral Home in Butler, Missouri (660) 679-0009. Visitation Tuesday evening, 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Graveside services with burial at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 9, Shelbourn Cemetery near Trenton, Missouri. Contributions to the family.

Larry A. Stubbs, 69, died August 4, 2012 in Osage Beach, Missouri. Larry was born March 28, 1943 in Poosey, Missouri, son of Walter C. and Arby Ann (Shriver) Stubbs.

Larry enjoyed many things musical; among them Karaoke, playing guitar, singing, writing music and dancing. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. Larry will be remembered most however, as “Chicken Larry,” longtime owner of Sam’s Hi-way Hamburger in Butler.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Larraleah Stubbs; step-daughter Michelle Ashcraft; brothers Ellis, Melville, Dallas, Don, and Clifford; and nephew Scotty Stubbs.

He is survived by his son William Stubbs of Trenton, Missouri; daughter Valerie Stubbs-Heckadon and husband Mark of Butler, Missouri; son-in-law Leroy Ashcraft and wife Shellie; former wife Susie Stubbs of Butler; brother Billy Dale Stubbs and wife Martha of Warsaw; sisters Donna Noah of Warsaw, Iola May Persell of St. Joseph, Missouri and Emma Bankson and husband Louis of Trenton, Missouri. He also leaves behind grandchildren Dakota Stubbs, Kiari Stubbs, Cody Ashcraft, Trey Heckadon, Hali Heckadon, Breydan Heckadon, Erin Ashcraft, Steven Ashcraft, and Jamie Gardner; as well as lots of nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
