Seniors interested in attending a technical or trade school after graduation may apply for the Bates County Youth Advocacy Council scholarships. Two $500 scholarships will be offered. “This is part of our mission to help Bates County youth who might not fit in traditional roles,” according to Kris Jenkins, president of the BCYAC. “Scholarships for technical and trade schools are less available and fit the need of the children we serve at the Youth Center and with our other programs.”
The scholarship applications will be available at all Bates County high school counselor’s offices starting this week. The application is due April 1.
