Obituary - Roena Frances Crawford

Roena Frances Crawford, 89, Willis, TX, formerly of Nevada, MO, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at her home in Texas. Roena one of six children, was born February 17, 1928 in Camp Point, IL to Clarence and Beatrice (Dutton) Mensendike. She married Burl David Crawford, Sr. on August 29, 1948 in Peoria, IL and they celebrated 64 years together.

Roena played and taught bridge, she loved to swim, knit, and crochet. She was an active member of PEO for many years. Roena was a devoted mother and wife.

Survivors include two sons, Michael, and Burl, Jr.; one brother, Jim Mensendike; one sister, Bonnie Huss; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Burl Sr., one son, David, and three brothers, Richard, Ray, and Gene.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Moore Cemetery in Nevada with Rev. Bill Platt officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
