Obituary - Vivian Ann Weil

Vivian Ann Weil
Vivian Ann Weil (who preferred to be called Ann), the widow of Charles Gwinton Weil, died Saturday, July 15th at Morningside of Nevada Assisted Living at the age of 93. With an air of southern grace, she possessed elegance, beauty, fashion, and a special allure of kindheartedness and was beloved by many and befriended many throughout her life. She was the loving rock for her husband Charles always providing a clean house, a home cooked meal, and a shoulder to lean on. Ann always had a smile, a kind word of encouragement, advice, wisdom, and lived by the mantra, “If you don’t have anything kind to say, don’t say anything,” which served her, and all those in her life well. She softened hurts, mediated quarrels, and won the hearts of more than she ever realized. Ann loved the 24 years she lived in Nevada, making many good friends along the way.

Ann was the seventh of eight children, from Amory, Mississippi, descendants of Richard Stockton, who was among the 56 that signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Her father, William Aden (Hezzie) Stockton was a successful building contractor and enjoyed and loved his large family with his wife, Mary Ann Bucy Stockton. Ann’s greatest loves were family, friends, playing bridge, the Nevada Garden Club, animals of all types, roses, poppies, and elegance in all things visual.

She is survived by her son Charles Gwinten Weil, Jr. and wife Martha; daughter Mary Ann Barnett and husband Gary, granddaughter Courtney and grandson Clayton (and their six collective great grandchildren); daughter Cindy Jo Foursha and her husband Sam, grandson Andrew and granddaughter Leslie; son William Stockton Weil and wife Amy, granddaughter Alexandria; daughter Laura Melissa Jones and husband Jonathan, and grandson Robert.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Morningside of Nevada and the nurses at Heartland Hospice of Butler, for their compassion, love, and kindness provided to Ann and her family.

The family is planning a celebration of Ann’s life later this summer for her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or Heartland Hospice of Butler.
