A lot has changed since Mr. Atkeson delivered those words some 91 years ago. By contrast, a lot is the same, too- including the fact that the Old Settler's reunion is now in it's 113th year and better than ever. This year's reunion of the Bates County Old Settlers Society will be next Wednesday at the Old Butler High School Gym, located at Pine and Havana streets. Registration is at noon; the meeting begins at 1 pm. The public is invited and will be treated to music by Irene Holt, refreshments, door prizes and more.
