Weekly report from the Bates County Sheriff's Office

08/16/10
CARELESS & IMPRUDENT DRIVING – Passaic
FIRE - MUTUAL AID / ASSIST – Adrian
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT – Spruce
HARASSMENT – Adrian
STRANDED MOTORIST – Passaic
VANDALISM – Butler Deputies took a report of a damaged mail box at RT 2 Butler.
THEFT – Butler Deputies took a report of a stolen John Deere X300 riding lawn mower from RT 1 Butler.
THEFT – Adrian Bates County Deputies recieved a report theft from Kerry Jenkins of Route 2.  The items stolen included a washing machine and dryer.
ANIMAL AT LARGE – Butler
AMBULANCE REQUEST – Rich Hill
VEHICLE FIRE – Hume
TRAFFIC STOP – Deputies stopped a vehicle on B Highway and CR 4265, east of Rich Hill for failing to drive on right half of roadway. The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated and the passenger was arrested on two outstanding warrants.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY / VEHICLE / PERSON – Butler
ANIMAL NEGLECT / ABUSE – Passaic Bates County Deputies took a report of animal neglect at Rt.2 Butler in reference to animal neglect. After investigation charges are not being filed at this time.

DFS ASSIST – Amsterdam
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY / VEHICLE / PERSON – V hwy at river bridge
THEFT – Amsterdam Deputies responded to rural Amsterdam on a report of burglary. A glass jar containing an unknown amount of coins was stolen from the residence.
Domestic – Adrian Deputies responded to RT#1, Adrian, MO in reference to a domestic disturbance. The female party and the two kids went to a friend’s house for the night.
Domestic – Ballard Deputies were dispatched to Ballard on a report of a disturbance.

DFS ASSIST – Amsterdam Bates County Deputies assisted Division Of Family Services in reference to a domestic assault in the Amsterdam area.
THEFT – Butler
ANIMAL AT LARGE – Amsterdam
AMBULANCE REQUEST – Butler
BURGLARY – Drexel Deputies took a report of a weed eater and garden hoses stolen from a residence in rural Drexel.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT – Butler
GUN SHOTS HEARD / OBSERVED – Butler
DFS ASSIST – Butler
TRESPASSING – Butler Deputies responded to disturbance in the Butler area in reference to a vehicle repossession. No suspect information at this time.

CHILD CUSTODY ISSUES – Butler Deputy responded to rr1 Butler on a child Custody issue.
THEFT – Adrian Deputy responded to the  area East of Adrian on a report of a stolen lawn mower.

PROPERTY DAMAGE / VANDALISM – Adrian Bates County Deputies took a report of property damage in the Adrian area. No suspect information at this time.

08/20/10
WRONG WAY DRIVER – Butler
Theft – Butler Deputies responded to a theft from the Butler City water treatment plant.  Items stolen included two antique valves.
HARASSMENT – Adrian
AGENCY ASSIST – Butler    
VANDALISM – Butler I was dispatched to Rt 4 Butler in reference to a mailbox be vandalized.
THEFT – Amsterdam deputy was traveling East on C.R 9002 when A property owner stopped him and stated that he owned the old military base. Owner then stated that he had just noticed that someone had stolen a copper cable from a pole outside the old military base.
 
 UNDER AGE PARTY – Amsterdam Deputies had been informed of possibly minors drinking at a residence on C.R 6002 approximately 1 mile East of C.R 9001. When deputies went to investigate they observed several vehicles that were blocking the road .At that time Deputies approached the residence and we observed several people running into a field north of the residence.
08/21/10
FIRE - STRUCTURE RESIDENCE – Butler
ANIMAL NEGLECT / ABUSE – Adrian Bates County Deputies received a report from Bodie Woods of Route 1  Adrian that someone had shot his dog.
CHILD CUSTODY ISSUE – Butler
VANDALISM – Rich Hill Bates County received a report of Property Damage at  East Pine St.  Rich Hill.  Reporting party advised that during the evening hours her bird bath was turned over.
EX-PARTE VIOLATION – Butler
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY / VEHICLE / PERSON – Ballard
ANIMAL AT LARGE – 52 hwy 7305
THEFT – Amsterdam
 
08/22/10
RUNAWAY – Butler Deputies were dispatched to Rt#4, Butler, MO, in reference to a runaway juvenile.
ASSAULT – Rich Hill
THREATS - VERBAL, PHONE OR BY MAIL – Adrian
