Musicians urged to join community band...

The Committee for the commemoration of Island Mound Skirmish is supporting a Bates County Community Band. Russ Thompson, Band Director at Butler High School has invited all Bates County High Schools. All Bates county school alumni and Bates county musicians are urged to be an integral part of the historic band. Rehearsals are Tuesday, October 23 and Friday, October 26 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Butler High School Band room. Even if you don't have the music yet, we want you to come and play. 8th grade and above are encouraged to play as we want this band to be intergenerational. The Skirmish happened 7 miles Southwest of Butler and directions to the site will be given at the two rehearsals.
